After removing mast receiver assembly, loosening turnbuckles to loosen v-frame base, I observed slotted set screw had pulled out of hull molded brass nut. Unable to re-fasten set screw. Brass nut that looks to be molded into the hull stripped ... WebJanuary 2013 #12. The truth of the matter is that these kayaks are made of plastics that do crack under pressure. With that said Hobie stands behind their product and replaced my first PA (cracked deck near seat) with no questions asked. The second issue seemed to be an issue that they have fixed on the newer models. Web9 mar 2024 · Not sure what the heck happened there, but here's an idea to fix it: Get a couple pieces of aluminum bar stock longer than the damaged hull area. Use stainless steel screws, flat or pan head, maybe with SS washers, to attach the bar stock under the damaged area, holding the hull pieces together from inside the hull. cafef aph
